1. Planning - Costume We have decided to ensure that there is some dress code within the video but it will not be incredibly precise. For example, we have asked people to dress in bright/neon colours as this will connote both the genre of the music and the title of the song, Techno fish. We have also decided that the design of the costume should be a stereotypical ‘rave’ design e.g. leg warmers, shorts etc. The Guests
2. Planning - Costume We have also chosen to include glow in the dark body spray as part of each individuals costume as this is again very conventional for this genre of music, but it will also cause the video to be memorable and aesthetically pleasing. During the live shots in the video, all ‘guests’ at the party will also be seen with both their hands in glow spray as, I believe, this will give a good effect within the video and will also ensure that the audience are clearly visible in the dark without taking too much attention away from the band.
3. Planning - Costume The Band For the band, however, the dress code is going to be much less specific. This is because, in other music videos that are similar to the one that we are going to create, such as Youmeatsix and Blink 182, the videos have allowed the band to express their own individual personality through their costume.
4. Planning - Costume As the video that we are going to create is going to be placed around a very stereotypical event for a teenager, a house party, I would like the band to use their costume to allow the audience to see them for who they truly are and not who the media and record companies would want them to be. However, the band will not be wearing paint as this will connote the more professional side of the video and the real reason it is being created.
